Fullmetal Alchemist is a science fiction adventure manga series written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa. About Hiromu Arakawa:

 Hiromu Arakawa is a manga artist best known for her work on Fullmetal Alchemist. After working as an assistant to other manga artists, she published her first series, Fullmetal Alchemist, in 2001. It quickly became a hit, spawning multiple anime series, films, and video games. Arakawa has since worked on other popular series such as Silver Spoon and The Heroic Legend of Arslan, and has become one of the most acclaimed manga creators in Japan.
